I received my ISSA Personal Training Certification in February, 2008. After I became a PT I wasn't sure what I was going to do with my degree. I'm a wife and mom so it was very important to have a job that had flexible hours. I really wanted to be my own boss, and not work at a gym or other facility. I wanted something that people would find affordable and fun. So I got to thinking, what about circuit training classes, given right in my own garage. That was the beginning of GOT MUSCLE? Circuit training classes.
My first circuit training class was in May, 2008. It was a very exciting day! I only had 5 people for my first class. But as the word spread about my class, I got more and more new clients. At this date I have had more than 55 people try my circuit training class. Over half of the people who have tried the class still take the class once or twice a week. Who ever thought a girl and a garage circuit training classes would get so popular. I feel truly blessed!!
I think the reason the circuit classes have done so well is because it's very affordable, at $5.00 a class. No monthly dues and no contracts. Just sign up and show up!
Another reason for its popularity is it's a full body work-out, all in one hour. The class has strength training, cardio, core strengthening and moves to help improve your balance. Each class ends with an abdominal work-out and cool down stretch.
I also think another reason that the class a tracks so many people, is the fact that each class is different. You never get bored, because the classes are never the same.
I moved my circuit training classes to Epiphany Lutheran Church, in Centerville,Ohio. I thought it might be a smart idea to move inside, due to the weather changes. Epiphany Lutheran church has been very supportive of my circuit training class. Several of the members have become my students. Due to low attendance in Centerville, I discontinued classes. All classes are in Springboro.
I added circuit training class at Living Water Lutheran Church in Springboro, Ohio. The first class was on May 19, 2011. Living Water Lutheran is located in the old elementary school-Jonathan Wright Elementary School on 40 Florence Ave.
I also have 9:30 AM circuit training classes at my home in Centerville, Ohio. These started in Nov. of 2011.
Let me take a little time here to explain how my circuit training class works. There are 10 stations with different exercises in each station. I start the class by going over each station explaining and showing you how each exercise is done. Then everyone moves to a station. You work there for 1 minute and as soon as the minute is up you do 30 seconds of cardio, then move to the next station. You complete all 10 stations in a quick manner as to not let your heart rate go down too much (this is where you get some of your cardio in). Once the 10 stations are done we do it all over again. We end with a great abdominal work-out and then a cool down stretch. You can burn any where from 350-800 calories an hour, depending on the person and how hard they go at it. I have all age groups and all levels. Some that have never picked up a weight and some marathoners.
You really work each station at your own pace. I'm there to help you with your form, breathing, range of motion and speed. I watch you and make sure you are performing the exercise correctly. I'm there to support you and to help you through it, so you can meet your physical fitness goals.
Please feel free to email me or call if you have any questions. I'd love for you to sign up to take a class...the FIRST CLASS is FREE!
